I took some photos of my room (at university, not home). I underestimated how shitting difficult it would be. Especially with a fixed lens.
And y'know what? I'm just not committed enough to go out and buy fresh cut flowers and arty magazines specifically for these pictures. (The flower market is on a Sunday anyway, duh).
This is what my room looks like at the moment, I've just Spring cleaned, adding an extra rail for jackets (there was an avalanche situation) and taking up my Mexican rug. Bare floors feel better for Spring/Summer. Admittedly, this is the tidiest my room gets, and it sure ain't like this all the time.
Even though it's a student room I love it a bit, having done what I could with the furniture left by the last tenants and stuff. I have absolutely no knack for interiors whatsoever so most things are displayed for practicality. In terms of clothes/shoes: if I can't see it, I will forget it exists. Anything non-practical is almost certainly a gift from someone I love... I like having glimpses of my friends and family around.
I'm completely obsessed with
Sous Style. If you aren't already, you will be. But, sadly, as someone whose diet is equal parts fruit, gin and rice pudding, I am well aware that chances of my being asked to cook for them are terrifyingly slim. And I just can't compete with all those women who get up at 6 for yoga, painting, jogging, surfing and cooking before work at 9. One day, though.
P.S. The two open books are The Selby is in Your Place by Todd Selby (the image of the perfume bottles is from Olivier Zahm's house. I thought it was really funny that he has a Paris Hilton scent), and Grunge - photographs by Michael Lavine. The photo is of 80s band Black Snakes.
P. P. S. I should have taken photos of the rest of the apartment and my flatmates rooms because they're cooler than mine. But that's pretty intrusive. So I didn't.
